The ultimate chosen suitor didn't have as well written a connection to the protagonist as some of the others and so the ending felt very rushed - it is possible that the author tried to subtly introduce the idea of this person as the final choice but made it too subtle. This is the second book in The Selection Series by Kiera Cass. Although I understand the significance of having all these different emotional connections for varying reasons, it felt a lot like once a character had been 'eliminated' they may as well have never existed despite several 'moments' that were suggestive of a further relationship. The actual story of Eady though I was frustrated by, it felt almost as if the author herself didn't know which suitor the protagonist would pick until the very last minute - making emotional connections with many characters but not enough with the one she finally picks in my opinion. I don't regret reading them as I was hungry for anything more about America/Maxon even if this was snippets mentioned in passing about their now background characters. I really do like Kiera as an author and loved the original three book Selection series, these last two books however have left me quite disappointed.
